Procedure:
- Prepare for the activity by creating the “pins.”
- Use the black marker to create faces on the rolls of toilet paper.
- Try to make them as ghost-like as possible.
- Show the children how to roll using an underhand throw.
- You may want to practice using a ball first.
- Set up the ghost pins on top of each other.
- Create a line that is an appropriate distance away from the pins
- Tell the children that they should only throw behind that line
- Allow the children to take turns bowling
Assessment:
- Observe and record the children’s gross motor skills. Were they able to underhand throw the pumpkin? Give the children many opportunities throughout the week to practice this skill. Document any change or growth.
