Peek a Boo Sun
by Debbie Hasbrook

Peek a boo Sun I see you coming,
Slowly you rise every morning.
All day long you play in the sky,
Until you need to say good-bye.
When it’s time to say good-night,
You disappear out of sight.

Till Summer Comes Again
by Debbie Hasbrook

The earth is gently sleeping throughout the wintry days.
All the leaves have fallen, the bears within their caves.
Waiting for spring and summer to warm the ground again.
For sunny days, and lazy ways and playing outside with friends.
Summer is for picnics, and swimming in the lake.
Summer is for daydreaming, and staying up till late.
Summer always ends too soon, as warm days finally end.
Then winter puts the earth to rest, till summer comes again.
All the Animals in the Sky
by Debbie Hasbrook

Lying in the grass on a warm and sunny day,
Watching the wind dance with the clouds,
moving them on their way.
One looks like an elephant, one looks like a bunny.
All the animals in the sky,
Aren't they oh so funny?
Summer Rain
by Debbie Hasbrook

I know it can’t be summer,
It’s raining and raining outside.
The thunder cracks and lightening smacks,
I’m glad that I’m inside.
Then all of a sudden the sun peeks through,
As if to say hello,
I guess it needs to rain sometimes,
For the flowers and trees to grow.
Summertime

See the shining sun.
See us play and run.
Summertime, oh, summertime,
We are having fun.
Watch us as we play.
We play and run all day.
Summertime, oh, summertime,
Please don’t run away.
Little Sunbeam
by Debbie Hasbrook

One little sunbeam shining down on me,
It’s giving me a shadow underneath my feet.
(Children walk and look for their shadow)

Two little sunbeams shining down on me,
I’m so hot, I think it’s to time to eat ice-cream!
(Children pretend to eat ice-cream)

Three little sunbeams shining down on me,
I take my shoes off to wade into the stream.
(Children pretend to take off their shoes and walk in the stream)

Four little sunbeams shining down on me,
The sun’s so bright I wear sunglasses to see.
(Children pretend to put on sunglasses)

Five little sunbeams shining down on me.
I’m so glad the sun can share this day with me.
Bright Sun

Bright sun shining down,
Shining on the ground.
What a lovely face you have,
Yellow, big, and round.
Sun Poem
by Debbie Hasbrook

When I woke up this morning,
the sun was in my eyes.
How are you I asked him,
“I’m well” was his reply.
What shall we do today I asked.
He said, “Let’s play outside,”
I grabbed my hat, put on my shoes,
“Here I come!” I cried
We passed the day exploring,
Too soon the sun would set.
“I’ll see you in the morning sun.”
And I went home to go to bed.

Summer Comes Poem

The Little darling Spring has run away
The sunshine grew too hot for her to stay
She kissed her sister, Summer, and she said
"When I am gone, you must be queen instead"
Now reigns the Lady Summer, round whose feet
A thousand fairies flock with blossoms sweet.
Poem for Summer
by Anne Morrow Lindberg

Laughter of Lilacs
Rainbows of roses
Songs of the robins
Lily of the valley borders
Sunshine to warm the heart
Oh what joy this season does impart!
Bed In Summer Poem
by Robert Louis Stevenson

In winter I get up at night,
And dress by yellow candle light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day,
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown up people's feet
Still going past me in the street,
And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?
In the Good Old Summertime
by George Evans and Ren Shields

There's a time in each year that we always hold dear,
the good old summer time;
With the birds and the treeses and sweet-scented breezes,
In the good old summer time.
When your day's work is over then you are in clover,
And life is one beautiful rhyme,
No trouble annoying each one is enjoying,
The good old summer time.
In the good old summertime,
in the good old summertime.
Strolling through the shady lanes with my baby mine.
You hold her hand, and she holds yours,
and that's a very good sign.
She will be your tootsie wootsie,
in the good old summertime.
In My Little Swimming Pool

I can stay real cool
In my little swimming pool.
On a sunny summer day,
I can splash and play.
When I wear my bathing suit,
I’ll be cool and I’ll be cute
In my little swimming pool.

I Love Summer

I love summer! Summer is hot.
It's sun and shade.
It's water to wade.
It's frogs and bugs.
It's grass for rugs.
It's eating outside.
It's a tree-swing ride.
It's tomatoes and corn.
It's dew in the morn.
It's dogs and boys
And lots of noise.
It's a hot sunny sky.
It's summer. That's why.....
I love summer.
In the summer when the days are hot,
I like to find a shady spot,
And hardly move a single bit
And sit, and sit, and sit, and sit.
Splash and Kick

When the sun is shining,
I like to go swimming,
Swimming in my backyard pool.
Splashing and kicking
Water all around me,
Splash, splash, kick, kick,
Keeping cool.
Summer Sun

Summer sun in the sky
Shining, shining up so high
Makes it warm for outside fun
To play at the park and run
To swim, hike, and fish
And go on a picnic, if you wish!
