The Vegetable Song
Sing to tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
author unknown

Carrots, Peas, and Broccoli,
Vegetables are good for me.
For my snack and in my lunch,
Veggie sticks are great to munch.
Carrots, Peas, and Broccoli,
Vegetables are good for me.
Let’s Root For Root Vegetables
Sing to tune of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"
author unknown

There are underground plant roots
Called root vegetables
Like potatoes and carrots and radishes
Onions and garlic and rutabagas
They are very good to eat
They are used in medicine too
So let’s root for root vegetables
Root! Root! Root

Try A Cucumber
Sing to tune of "Sweet Betsy From Pike"
author unknown

Cucumbers have lots of things that are good
With lots of iron for healthy blood
They have lots of calcium for you and me
And calcium gives you strong bones and teeth

Cucumbers are veggies that help you get thin
But they’re also something that’s good for your skin
Some people put cucumber right on their eyes
They say that it helps them and that is no lie

Pickles are made from cucumbers too
They help in digestion and that’s good for you
They’re the vegetable with the most water in them
So try a cucumber, yes try one my friend
Planting song
author unknown

I took a little seed one day
I put it in a pot
of dirt
In hopes that it would grow.

I poured a little water
To make the soil just right.
I set the pot upon the sill
Where the sun would give it light.

I checked the pot most every day,
And turned it once or twice.
With a little care and water
I helped it grow so nice.

Planting Seeds
author unknown

First you take the seed and you plant it in the ground (pretend to plant seeds in hand)
Next a rain cloud comes and waters all around (Use one hand to simulate rain)
Next the sun shines brightly, without a sound (use fingers like sun)
And in just a few days, a flower is found (open hand like flower)
