Drying Mittens Pretend Play

Children will:

Materials:
- mittens
- clothespins
- string
Procedure:
- Set up the dramatic play area by hanging strings across an appropriate area.
- Lay out clothespins and mittens.
- Show the children how to use the clothespin to hang the mittens.
- Give them plenty of time for play.
Assessment:
- Observe and record the children as they engage in dramatic play. How did they interact with other children? How did they use the materials? Be sure to record and dialog they have during the activity.

Indoor Snow Day Sensory Play
When the temperatures outside are too cold to or you have a child with special needs that is unable to safely be outside in the snow bring the snow inside!
Supplies:
Mittens, spoons, ice cream scoopers, muffin tins, cookie sheet or pizza pan, water colors and paintbrush, cookie cutters, cars, plastic animals, etc.
Directions:
Let children enjoy playing and exploring with snow while having the warmth of being indoors. Provide children with various supplies and let them explore snow in a whole new way.

- Sensory table, plastic bin or big bowl
