Procedure:
Prepare for activity by filling a water bottle with different colored glitter, straws, bent pipe cleaners, and buttons. Fill the bottle with water and close the cap. You can duct tape the lid closed or hot glue the cap on. Present the sensory bottle to the infant. While they are playing, talk with them about what they are experiencing. As the infant babbles, repeat their vocalizations or ask questions and wait for a response. Continue talking with the child until they tire of the conversation.

Reflect on Observations
Infant teachers study their observation records, documentation, and assessment information both individually and with colleagues and family members. Taking time to slow down, review, and think about each child’s behavior, temperament, learning interests, developmental profile, and needs helps teachers deepen their understanding and appreciation of each child and gives them ideas on how to continue to support that child’s learning and development.
