Monster Eyes Sensory Bottle

Materials:

Procedure:
- Prepare for the activity by creating the sensory bottle.
- Put several scoops of colored rice and googley eyes into the empty bottle.
- You can dye regular white rice by adding a teaspoon of vinegar and a few drops of food coloring to a cup of rice in a bag.
- Shake until all the grains are colored.
- Allow to dry on a pan overnight.
- Secure the lid to the sensory bottle.
- Introduce the monster sensory bottle.
- As they are playing, introduce new vocabulary words that relate to the activity.
Assessment:
- Observe and record the children’s reaction to the sensory bottle. Did they make any movements or sounds? Did they shake the bottle?
