Watermelon Songs and Action Rhymes

Watermelon
by Hannah Eveland

Watermelon is what I need.
I eat it all, even the seed.
It’s red and juicy and is cold in your mouth.
Watermelon is best without a doubt.
Don’t get me wrong I love other fruits too,
But when it comes to watermelon, it’s what I choose.
I could eat it in the day and even in the night.
While other fruits are wrong, watermelon is right!

Watermelon
by Hannah Culp

Cool and crispy
Yummy and sweet
Perfect for a summer treat
“What is it?”
Watermelon

Sweet Watermelon
by Morgan McAdams

Watermelon, watermelon oh so sweet.
Watermelon, watermelon can’t be beat,
with their watery juices in my mouth.
Watermelons just make me want to shout.
Watermelon, watermelon
I just love the sweet red plump fruit you are.

The Watermelon Patch Song
Sing to tune of "Are you Sleeping?"

Watermelon, (Make a circle with your arms.)
Watermelon,
On the vine, (Curve hands and arms beside body.)
On the vine,
Sweet and red and juicy, (Rub your tummy.)
Sweet and red and juicy,
Please be mine! (Palms together as though pleading.)
Please be mine!

Watermelon, (Make a circle with your arms.)
Watermelon,
Thump, thump, thump, (Make a thumping movement with thumb and middle finger.)
Thump, thump, thump,
I think you are ready- (Point, resting finger on your temple.)
I think you are ready-
Big and plump! (Make a circle with your arms.)
Bug and plump!
