Each week I'll give you 2 to 3 (sometimes more!) activities, books, crafts, or songs that you can do with each letter!
This week is the letter K!
Items that could go in a K Mystery box!
K's cut from card stock (or thick paper)
Pass out K's to each child (or have a helper pass them out for you)
Allow the children to glue kernels all over their K's
Pictures with K items (optional)
Write upper and lower case K's on 10 (5 of each) on index cards
Mix up the index cards
Have the children sort the cards into two piles (upper case and lower case K's)
You could add pictures of K items to the cards for more practice with the letter.
Kite, kite, soaring high,
Reaching, reaching to the sky.
First you're high, then you're low,
Swooping, swirling, round you go.
Kite, kite, fine and free,
Dancing, dancing, just for me.
This is a great fine motor skills activity and really fun for the children.
You can cut up a bunch of different fruit (kiwis and kumquats would be good for this too).
You can also have the children cut the fruit with plastic knives if they have the skills to do so.
Provide the children with wooden skewers and allow them to push the different fruit onto it.
