The M's Are Marching

The M's are marking round the room, hurray, hurray!
The M's are marking round the room in a big parade.
A monkey, a mouse, a mitten and more.
All are marching round the floor.
Oh, we're all so glad that they could come today.

**Have the children hold up pictures of each item as they are sung.**

Monkey See, Monkey Move

Write M's on five or six different index cards and other letters on several more.
Have the children stand in front of you.
Show them the cards one at a time.
Whenever they see the letter M, have them move around like monkeys.

Five little ladybugs sitting in a tree,
The first one said, "I'm glad I'm me."
The second one said, "I feel great too."
The third one said, "How about you?"
The fourth one said, "It's time to fly away."
The fifth one said, "We'll talk another day."

I'm a Lion

I'm a lion, I'm a lion,
Hear me roar, hear me roar.
I love to sleep out in the sun,
And chase other animals just for fun,

Kabobs

This is a great fine motor skills activity and really fun for the children.
You can cut up a bunch of different fruit (kiwis and kumquats would be good for this too).
You can also have the children cut the fruit with plastic knives if they have the skills to do so.
Provide the children with wooden skewers and allow them to push the different fruit onto it.
