EALR 1: The student understands and applies arts knowledge and skills in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts.
Begin the lesson by showing students the new art technique. Show them how to paint a tree trunk and branches and then use the Q-tips to create leaves. Encourage students to try the new technique on their own. As they are working you can ask questions like:
Asking students questions like these will get them thinking about their work on a deeper level, as well as allow you to gain insight on their creative process.
