 Pumpkin Guts Materials Needed: Large pumpkin Sensory bin Directions: Cut the top of the pumpkin off and place the pieces in the sensory bin Invite the children to play As they are exploring, talk with them about what they are experiencing Be sure to use new and interesting vocabulary to describe the different textures  Hammering a Pumpkin Materials Needed: Large pumpkin Golf tees Children's hammer Directions: Show the child how to use the hammer to pound in the gold tees Encourage them to try  Pumpkin Painting Materials Needed: Ziplock bag Orange paint Thick white and green paper Scissors Duct tape Directions: Prepare for the activity by cutting the thick paper into a pumpkin-like shape lace it inside the Ziplock bag along with some orange paint Seal the bag closed with the duct tape Introduce the bag to the child and encourage them to paint using their fingers As they are working, practice new vocabulary words with them that are relevant to the activity When they are finished, remove the paper and allow to dry Add some vines to the pumpkin using the green paper Five Little Pumpkins Song
